1970-71 Highest ever position, Scullion joins Sheffield United.

1971-72 A Season of disasters we are relegated and the manager leaves.

1972-73 George Kirby sacked as manager a new forward arrives by the name of Ross Jenkins

1973-74 Duncan Welbourne ends his long playing career with Watford. Elton plays a concert at the Vic to raise funds.

1974-75 Billy Jennings goes to West Ham for a then club record 110K. The crowd turn against Chairman Bonser.

1975-76 Luther Blissett plays his first games, Jim Bonsor sells up to Elton John.

1976-77 Bobby Moore to be Watford manager..It is in fact Ex Lincoln full back Graham Taylor.

1977-78 Graham Taylor has an immediate impact as Watford are promoted as champions.

1978-79 The Hert arrives on the badge and Watford are promoted on the back of a Jenkins and Blissett partnership firing on all cylinders.

1979-80 The Family Enclosure is launched, A quite period on the pitch.
